Encore Pro Software - work on MAC?

Post by RM2017 » Thu Apr 07, 2011 12:10 pm

Can anyone provide a link to where I can purchase the encore pro software, and also do you know if it can work on MAC computers? It seems from info I've seen it only works on Windows.

Thanks

You will need to register at the forum so that you can receive private messages.

Encore Pro is a Windows based software. It will work on a Mac but you have to create some sort of Windows environment for it to work. Some use Bootcamp. I don't understand it, only that if you set up special Windows environment Pro will work in it. Without the windows environment it will not work.

Here's how to get Boot Camp going, it has worked for me with the ResMed ResScan software.

Everything you ever wanted to know about BootCamp, including installation manuals:

http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

BootCamp is a dual-boot system. It creates a separate partition, on which you can install a full version of Windows. You can then boot to either operating system by holding down the Option key at startup and choosing which you want to run, Mac OS X or Windows.

I run Windows in my Mac using Parallels and was able to load and run Encore Pro without any problems. My problem is quite randomly the system sometimes does not make a connection to the Mako DT3500 card reader. Sometimes it works, but more often it fails to "see" that the device is plugged in. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution?

I don't use a Mac but I have had this happen with my recent install of Encore Pro (Vista 32 bit). I went to the Mako DT3500 web site and got a fresh download of the driver software and it seems to have resolved the issue. If you have already done that then I don't have any ideas. If not, you might give that a try. They don't offer anything but Windows based but maybe choosing the one that matches your computer (bit wise) and your Windows environment might work.... While Encore Pro does include the driver software for the Mako card, it seems to want to fail sometimes. Might be especially nit picky on a Mac.

It's a Parallels thing. My BootCamp image, booted in Parallels, does the exact same thing with the SD card reader for ResScan and other things. When booted into BootCamp, the card readers are all fine =(
