He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day.....

Post by McSnoresalot » Wed Apr 06, 2011 2:28 pm

Been doing pretty good this last week - AHI under 5 for the whole week, average useage up to almost 5 hrs - really happy with the Sleapweaver mask, especially with the low (for me) AHI numbers - this is on auto with 90% average at 16.5. I'm showing average large leak for the week at 3.7% - have no idea if this is good or bad, mask doesn't seem like it's leaking much, don't think I'm mouth breathing (no drymouth) - have heard the SW not so good at higher pressure, seems to be working ok for me.

Anyway - to celebrate a banner week with the Facehugger, decided to stop off at the local watering hole on the way home from work to have a couple of brews with the regulars. note: I am not a pub regular - I generally get assigned associate status 'cause I never stay for more than a couple, but I do ring the bell once in a while (buys a round for the house) and that make me ok with the regulars.

Pull into the parking lot at 5:30ish, walking though the lot I see a guy leaning against a car - figure he's sick or something - he's sees me looking at him an slurs "what the f*ck you looking at?" Ok, so he's sh@tfaced at 5:30 and he appears to be trying to unlock his car door and is too sloshed to get it done. Being the good sammaritan (sp) - I walk right up on him, put my hand out and offer to help out - he stares at me for a minute, then hands me his keys and I threw them up on the roof of the bar.

Well, Drunky didn't like that too much (took him a minute to figure out what happened) - he looks like maybe he's gonna take a swing at me, so I start backpedalling fast toward the door. He's following, can tell he's really pissed, but not sure what's going on, he starts yelling that I "ripped him off" - I wait for him at the door and when he comes up, I told him "my bad - let's see if the manager can get your keys back" and in we went asking for the manager.

Long story short - I got my beers on the house and Drunky got a cab ride home.

Mac,
That large leak is bad. For Respironics on screen to register a large leak at all it has to be REALLY bad. Without seeing the reports ( I know you have the software ) one should be concerned about what might be happening just short of what Respironics calls a large leak. It has to be upwards near 90 or 100 L/min to make the dubious distinction of Large Leak. How about humoring and old woman and show me a picture of one of those leak graphs so I won't have to worry about you anymore and just enjoy your stories?

Thanks for keeping our roads safe McSnoresalot!

Mac
I just wanted to tell you that I for one absolutely love your stories and I don't want you to quit writing them. They make me smile. We often have off topic stuff and and it hurts no one and if someone doesn't want to read off topic stuff then they sure don't have to. Sometimes it is just nice to have a smile or laugh to cheer us up. It's obvious you have a gift and I would miss it.

Mac, the road was made safer because of you. We all need to take notice and follow your example.

I have never been at a bar when the bell was rung. I need to do some exploring...

LOL, are you KIDDING me? I would much rather read Mac's stuff than watch a nanosecond of the garbage on Comedy central that people think is funny. It wasn't meant to insult you:)

Not only do I applaude how you handled Mr Drunky, But I have to give props to the bar manager that appreciated what you did. In addition to keeping Mr Drunky from behind the wheel, you saved the bar owner/manager/tender's a$$ if anything had happened.

I agree there certainly ISa place for humor here...but it probably should have had "OT:" in the Subject line!

This is an excellent deed you did and you are one of the brave ones who will get involved at the appropriate time.

Thank you for relating the story here and reminding me that many members do good things that aren't related to CPAP!
