Buying separate "parts" of va mask

Simple answer: Anyone who want to *replace* a mask or a part or a mask - especially the part that contacts the face.

Medicare, and more than a few other insurers, allow us to replace either the entire mask (without headgear) or any part of a mask sooner than they allow us to replace the headgear.

I use the ResMed Activa. Medicare and my secondary insurance allow me to replace the entire mask or only the part that touches the face EVERY 3 MONTHS. They allow me to purchase the headgear and mask EVERY 6 MONTHS.

If the Active seems to lose its seal, I can buy from cpap.com only the part that touches my face. Buying only that single part saves money for anyone without insurance OR saves the insurance company money - which means keeping down the cost of healthcare nationwide

I'm posting this as information to newcomers.

I think it is a good idea...I just bought the rubber piece for my activa...the rest was still in good shape.

I can do the same thing with the Hans Rudolph.

I like that as well, because if one size mask doesn't fit all I have to do is get the mask.
