Zest nasal mask - anyone familiar?

Post by SueBee » Fri Apr 01, 2011 10:40 pm

Hi all,

I usually use the Swift FX for her nasal pillows, and am doing pretty well with it. About once a week I try to use the Zest, to give my nostrils a break, (they get a little irritated sometimes).
However, I find the Zest to be noisy - I hear every breath I exhale. It sounds like waves hitting the shore. Does anyone know if there's a way to improve this? It's not a big deal since I can use the pillows, but was just wondering. Thanks.

Sorry, never used anything but the nasal pillow mask system. Only commenting on the tender nostril issue. Don't know how long you have been using this mask since I see you just joined not too long ago but the pillows shouldn't be causing much tenderness at all unless they are a bit snug or the wrong size. Adding a bit of moisturizer (like Lanoish) might help a bit. Just about any good moisturizer will do except for petroleum based products like Vasoline which can damage the pillow material as well as cause lung problems.

In the nearly 2 years I have used nasal pillow mask system the only time I have had any tenderness in the nostril area was when I had the straps a bit too tight and it squished my nose a bit.

I use a Zest mask but I won't be much help... It is true I can hear myself breathing, but having never tested another mask, I don't know if it is louder than another one.
