Padacheeks/Karen is a genius!

Post by DocWeezy » Fri Apr 01, 2011 12:37 pm

I've just got to rave about her cheek cushions for the Swift LT. This woman is an absolute genius! These pads are comfortable and wonderful. I also ordered a short hose cover, and that's another "wow"!

And this rave is coming from a very accomplished seamstress...I design and make biking gear, bike packs, shirts, pants, tailored suits (when I used to have to wear something like that to work), home dec...pretty much I can sew and design anything under the sun. However, when I got my mask, I spent a couple of hours fooling around with some cheek pads and decided that I just wasn't getting it and I wasn't happy with what I came up with. The Swift LT has some odd little doo-hickies on it. Decided that ordering from Padacheeks made a whole lot more sense and I'm glad I did. Her designs and the execution of them is fabulous, and I hate to think about the amount of time she has put into R&D for these products. The attention to detail and quality really shows.

Count me in as another Padacheek fan!

I am a big fan. I don't even own a sewing machine so my lab rat side covers were really looking sad. Well worth it for me to get quality and not have to fiddle with it all myself. Plus for my mask, the barrel cozy, no way would I be able to come up with any thing workable.

For me, the nose bridge protectors and mask liners are pure genius.

I was hoping the mailman would have brought my order today. I am excited to try out my new mask cover and my barrel cozy for my Swift LT for her. I didn't know she had short hose covers. I would have ordered that too.

I have bought one of these (for the Swift LT for Her) but have yet to be able to decipher the instructions for putting it on. I am mechanically challenged. Will get my husband to figure it out this weekend (he's an engineer) so I can try it.

I have to join the bandwagon too. I bought Karen's Pad A Cheek for my Quattro FX after my wife complained about the marks on my cheeks which lasted for hours after taking off the mask in the morning (I'm a side sleeper). Shazaam all gone. Thanks Karen.

I wouldn't sleep without my anti-leak strap. It's held up for almost a year. I have to agree -- her products are unparalleled.

Re: Padacheeks/Karen is a genius! comparted to comfort gel pads

Post by Jane1966 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 7:02 pm

Hello,

I have been purchasing the comfort gel pads on-line. They work but are somewhat expensive, considering they only last about a month to six weeks. I have really scrutinized the pad-a-cheek nose protector on-line but it looks like an uncomfortable wool/cotton strip that would not protect your nose bridge. I have a comfort gel full face mask. Does someone have experience comparing the two? I would like to just buy the pad-a-cheek product since I wouldn't have to replace it as often, but it just doesn't look promising in the pictures. thanks.

I do all my sewing with Gorilla Glue. It's amazing how often you can get by with it.

This is so funny -- I actually came over here tonight thinking I might leave a comment about how much I like the pads I just got for my Swift LT. I've been using the ones that came with it, and they worked, but sometimes I would wake up with mask marks. I finally decided to try the PadACheek version, WHAT a difference! So soft and comfy. I, too, found them a bit of a challenge to work out how to get them on, and finally found the trick was to lay the mask strap down, then lay the pad next to it in the same orientation, and then just figure out how to get the strap through. The wire doohickey is invaluable for that.

No, this is not cotton/wool at all, it's soft microfleece. I have this pad for my UltraMirage and it does the job, putting just enough in between the mask and my nose bridge.
