OT: Muffy, you will like this story

Post by SleepingUgly » Sat Mar 26, 2011 9:50 pm

My 5-year-old daughter was asking why God allows bad things to happen to people. Her 7-year-old brother said that God wants people to choose. So she said, "Yeah, because of free will." I said, "How do YOU know about 'free will'?!" She replied, "From a Rush song."

I'm not Muffy. I'm not even NotMuffy. But I like that story. Smart little girl. So's her brother. And her mom.

I write down some of the things that my kids say. My daughter's got this kind of divergent thinking that is either a sign of high intelligence or impending psychosis, I'm not sure which.

Here are some things she's said:

At age 3, stepping onto digital scale: "I just want to see what time it is on my foot".

*************

Age 5:
Mommy, you're as thin as roadkill. (Not anymore!)

**************

Age 5:
My daughter: What side are you on?
Me: What side of what? (Explanation that it has to be relative to something, like what side of the car are you on, etc.)
My daughter: Are you on the dark side?
Me: The dark side of what?
My daughter: The dark side, like Sidious, or are you on the good side, like Anakin?

(Some here would say I'm on Sidious' side )

I must really live in the dark! I haven't the foggiest idea who Sidious and Anakin are!!!

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I must be Tonto. I never heard of either one of them either.

Sidious was with the Sex Pistols. Anakin was the Right-Dominant (or Left-Dominant, depending on who you think is Right)(or Dominant) Alien played by Frank Gorshin in the Star Trek Episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield". Lou Antonio played the Left- (or Right-) Dominant character, Anakant.

There is, but with SU's Radical Right Rants (RRRs), I think she's referring to Limbaugh.

Glad I'm not alone in this one.

I think I spend too much time on the road.

Yep, sure do envy you there, cbm. Got them nice new paved roads, expensive bike to drive around on, bench to set and rest.

All the comforts of home.

All I got is "feet".
