Hi folks:
First off, is there a place for posts like this? I poked around for a "tell us about your night" thread, but didn't see on in recent times. I have found that posts like this help me stick to new habits that I'm trying to form.
No rainout last night (yay) but I did find my lips doing that motorboat thing at least twice. Hybrid mask is in shipping, so that's a temporary issue.
Woke up VERY tired, but was able to get moving pretty quickly. I'm guessing my body is now realizing I *can* sleep, and is therefore demanding more of it to catch up.
AHI 4
Central 2.5
Leak 3.5

Re: Night 3
You are getting there and you have such a positive attitude towards your therapy......that is why you are doing so well. Keep it up and very soon your ahi will be under 1. Don't be surprised if you have a slippy slidey night once in awhile....but for the first 3 nights you are doing fantastic.
Cheers to you.

Re: Night 3
There is no special section for posting first time stuff. It is all under this one general forum.
Looking good overall. Tired some? I see that you responded to Robysue with a bit of insomnia history for yourself. That will of course impact how we feel. Even under the very best of circumstances and even after being on the machine for quite some time with the most excellent of numbers, it is possible to still have some fatigue. Finally there are other factors that impact how we feel overall. So you get the standard speech.
It is early, give it time.
Leaks can impact therapy and even how well we sleep because anything that causes fragmented sleep, can impact how we feel generally. Work on leaks (you already are doing that)
Take a hard look at overall sleep hygiene to see if anything can be improved on if there is chance it is impacting quality of sleep.
Number of hours asleep? May just need more hours.
Finally if after a month or so and despite having good numbers, no leaks, good number of hours asleep, if still fatigued look at other possible factors such as overall health, pain, meds, insominia, etc.

Re: Night 3
Indeed I have initial insomnia - to the point where I'm on Ambien every night. I spent my early career as a tech director for various dot-coms, which meant about 6 years of horrific sleep patterns, and messed up circadian rhythms. The Ambien works really well for me though. No "night activities" or anything like that.
I'm giving it time =)

Re: Night 3
You are actually doing much better than I did at this same stage. My AHI for the first week was nearing 10, lots of clusters, felt awful yadda yadda yadda. You realized early potential problem with leak and are already working on it. You have a good realistic attitude and realize that there is more to feeling great than just sleeping with the machine. Heck I needed naps for 18 months after I got pressures tweaked to cut my initial AHI way down and was getting decent number of hours of sleep and did have decent overall sleep hygiene and taking meds to help sleep. My issue outside of OSA was pain.
You really are doing quite well for so soon. Even your leak number isn't hugely bad. You aren't commenting about difficulties that many others experience so early into treatment. Can't sleep with mask.. take it off during the night to get "real" sleep... reports showing leaking like a sieve.. only sleeping with mask 2 hours wonder why don't feel so good.... Can't stand the noise...So many other potential problems and you have escaped those.
Will you have some bumps? Probably, but we all have them from time to time. Some bigger than others. We just keep plodding along and dealing with things as they happen. You are off to an excellent start. You are to be commended.

Good for you, Talon. You and I started together (I just had night 2) and I wish us both a lot of success!! Hang in there, and sweet dreams.
