RespCare Hybrid Universal Full Face pillow question

Post by seanm » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:34 am

I have a new RespCare Hybrid Universal Full Face mask that I used for the first time last night.

I think it is going to work out if I can fix one issue. The nasal pillows are held together with a thin piece of silicone. Can this be removed? It irritates my septum. Will it effect the seal if it is removed?

Thanks!

Many Hybrid users here cut them apart. I tried that with an old one to see if it helps...it didn't for me but I know it does for some. Mine commonly don't fit tight at the front of my nares. I use the "tights fix" to hold the front of the pillows up.

But to answer your specific question, yes, some users cut the strip. If it causes soreness, I'd certainly give it a try...but have a backup handy.

Hi Sean
Yup I cut mine, my left nare is slightly off & I had to move the pillow over a tad. If you want to trade any of your pillows you don't use go to "the great pillow exchange" or pm me. I use the medium pillows and mouth cushion and have a small and large to trade.
Cheers
Nan

Sorry just traded the large pillows and cushion, small is still available.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
