One week on new APAP machine.

Post by NancyAZ » Mon Mar 07, 2011 6:51 pm

Last night was my seventh night on my new S9 Autoset and I think that it is a success. I had the S9 Elite before. This past week on the Autoset (pressure range 8 to 12), my AHI averaged 0.7. The prior month my AHI averaged 2.7 on the Elite (pressure 10). I know that I feel better. I'm not saying that the Elite couldn't have worked but the Autoset seems to be working better for me. I know that I can definitely tell a difference with these new lower AHI numbers. I have more energy and my mind seems clearer. Because I had heard that anything below 5 was good, I thought that it was crazy when I read about people saying that they felt better with numbers below 1 or 2. It honestly does make a difference! Five weeks into treatment I am feeling so much better. I could tell a difference right away 5 weeks ago but I guess it is true that sometimes you don't know just how bad you felt before until you compare it to how you feel now.

Well done Nancy, I'm glad to hear your efforts have paid off. And you can always set it to CPAP mode anyways

Uncle _Bob, that was my point with my doctor. We can always just go with CPAP mode but with my S9 Elite, we had nowhere to go if that didn't work. So far I am loving this Autoset but I've only been using it a week. Thanks for the replies.
