Shopping for a new machine
Shopping for a new machine
I have been using a Resmed s6 since 2000. It's a simple machine, no controls or feedback; just turn it on and go to sleep. It is lately showing it's age and I want to replace it with something simple, quiet, and effective. I don't need sleep reports or fancy controls. I have talked to some salespeople online, but they are only confusing me.

look at the devilbiss intellipap AUTO. For under $500 (if bought online @cpap.com) it is great machine also has a 3 yr warranty. It does give some data without purchasing anything else. But you do not have to look at it! LOL

If you want to stay with the ResMed brand, and really don't want any AHI or Leak reporting -- not even via the LCD window on the machine -- then the S9 Escape CPAP would be a good choice for "simple" and "quiet." I was impressed by how extremely quiet a couple of ResMed S9's (an "Elite" and an "Autoset" ) that I had a chance to listen to were.
There are many less expensive simple CPAPs in other brands. A simple CPAP in the DeVilbiss brand that jmcanzo mentioned is the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP Standard -- doesn't provide AHI or Leak data -- just "compliance" (hours of use.)
