New Quattro FX blows air on my nose
I have been trying the new Quattro FX. I have been a faithful user of the Fisher & Paykel FlexiFit HC431 Full Face for one year but when it leaks it makes loud noises (for lack of a better word it sounds like loud farts). As much as men love fart noises the wife is not amused. So I ordered and tried the new Quattro FX. From the very first minute I tried it I noticed something I have never noticed on any CPAP mask (nasal or full face and I have tried them all). There is a direct stream of air blowing directly at my nose. It is there between breaths but when I breathe in it is much stronger. I have tried ignoring it but it irritates and dries out my nostrils. Does anyone have any insights into this? Any solutions?

Re: New Quattro FX blows air on my nose
When I first read the subject of this thread, I thought it said "New Quattro FX blows air UP my nose" and I thought, "Well, yeahhhh, that's what it's supposed to do..." I can't say I noticed it blowing ON my nose more than any other FFM, but I didn't use it for very long. I'll be back to trying it again soon.

Re: New Quattro FX blows air on my nose
When I tried the Quattro FX, I noticed something similar.
Air was blowing out the top of the mask between the frame and the cushion--the dang thing wasn't seated properly.
Try as I would, I could not get the stupid thing to stay put. Apparently the ResMed mask design people stopped before they were finished.
Fortunately, I had purchased it from the DME (they are good for something) and I exchanged it for a duplicate of the mask I use the most.

My experience, exactly. I switched to the 431 too:) MUCH better fit, But, I do get the face poots too, while adjusting it at first each night, lol. It amuses my kids. So hey, free entertainment too!! Can't ask for better than that, ha!
