The story about RESPIRONICS in MIDDLE EAST

Post by semreka » Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:46 pm

Hi,
Now I would like to tell you a story about a man who suffers from sleep apnea and decides to use CPAP.
The story begins in a country which is a little above the Middle East and has the name same with a name of the big bird which is generally eaten in 'the thanks giving days'.Our hero is an well-educated person, when he understands that he has to use cpap as the solution to his problem , he makes a market search and decides two brands , RESMED and RESPIRONICS. Because RESPIRONICS is an AMERICAN originated brand and the new partner PHILIPS is a Netherland's Legend, our well-educated hero decides to buy RESPIRONICS.
He finds a supplier company and buys a Bipap Auto Biflex.
Now ,it begins the story with the name ,the hellish torture of the man who uses RESPIRONICS in middle east, which is still a part of the world and in which the living creatures can still be considered human beings.
He buys the device by paying approximately whole yearly income of himself.
6 months later the machine breaks down suddenly ,when our man works in a contiguous country which has the name same with the name of an American State.
But there are no addressees around.
Neither in his own Bird named country nor contiguous country with American state named , Neither in Netherland , Nor in America.
When he calls to the supplier, he says , it is impossible for him to supply an extra device for him because he is working in different country.
When he sends an email to the respironics, only one e-mail , he receives which says the email is submitted and the company will call him.
When he calls the Germany head office of Respironics ,they say even it is stated in product documents , in the region where the device is bought , the two year of replacing with new device warranty is not valid.
When he calls the Distributor company in the Contiguous Country with American state name , they say 'bring the device , we can fix it here, it is easy....'
My dear friends.....I would like to ask you a question are we same creatures?????????????????
What makes you different ???? please tell me....In America, you also have two holes in your noses or not ??
What is the reason of this double standard???????????????????????????????????????????????
Before finishing , I would like to explain,
The country which has the name with a bird is TURKEY.
The country which has the name of an American State is GEORGIA.
And
Our idiot hero who decides to buy RESPRONICS instead of RESMED is myself...
Thanks for listening
Tesekkur ederim...(thank you in turkish)

I cured my CPAP by turning it on and dropping it on a hard floor from about 8 inches, shocked it back to running normally
it seems the problem is known about by the US people you spoke to so ask them how to fix it
australian, anxiety and insomnia, a CPAP user since 1995, self diagnosed after years of fatigue, 2 cheap CPAPs and respironics comfortgell nose only mask. not one of my many doctors ever asked me if I snored

Hi semreka

That is a sad story.

All I could find was -

http://www.whatclinic.com/ear-nose-thro ... leep-apnea

and nothing for Georgia (not US).

Hope your original supplier can help.

Good luck.

To bitch about bad service - the same thing everyone else (including you) does here. If you have a problem with that, don't read the posts.

The purpose is to vent. To "get it off his chest". We've all done that here...and will continue.

None of us here can do anything about it. And he obviously knows that. But sympathy and encouragement makes him feel a little better.

Semreka-- I'm sorry you have been having trouble with your machine and your efforts in having it repaired. It's too bad that Respironics does not offer any repair services in Georgia, but I'm sure it has more to do with politics and regulation than unwillingness on their part. I assume you have looked into the possibility of shipping it to the US for service? Best of luck, sir.

See? It isn't difficult...

Semreaka,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with the machine, but I hope you are not extrapolating this experience into assuming that you are being treated poorly or discriminated against because you are not an American. Machines do break or may be poorly manufactured, but the issue of warranty is a complicated legal issue and it has to do with complex international trade --not a personal vendetta against Turkish or Georgian citizens.

There is apparently a Philips Respironics presence in Turkey--see this site: http://www.healthcare.philips.com/tr_tr/ Perhaps if you drill down on that site you will be able to find out whether there is a warranty that applies in Turkey and how to get service on your machine.

There does NOT appear to be a PR presence in Georgia, so that may be an issue. Perhaps the PR you bought in Georgia came to be there in some way that is not supported by PR, like a black or grey market or a fake. I'm NOT accusing you of any wrong doing, but perhaps your seller was a bit shady.

In any case, I'm sorry you're having trouble, but I hope you don't feel that this is some sort of American attack on you personally. I hope you can get it resolved.

You told your story well, semreka.

Very interesting to read.

Hope the frustrating-for-you saga finally works out in your favor.

Tesekkur ederim and Didi Modloba for posting it.

Exactly.

I think Link's final comment is directed at avi123, not at semreka. I mention that just 'cause avi might not read it that way -- appearing, as it does, at the end like that.

I appreciate to everyone who spends his/her time to read the post.
In one of the answering posts there is a link which includes contact information for RESPIRONICS--TURKIYE.
The telephone numbers are different from the numbers of distributor company of Turkey.
They may be the solution for my problem.
Tomorrow morning I will try to get in touch with them.
The hope has come from my big family, you all.
thanks.........

I'm envious of your ability in so many other languages.

Good luck (in every language!) with the machine problem.

I am sorry you are having problems with the Mfr. One can understand TV's having warranties that are not valid all over the world. But a medical device should be in a different category. I understand that there may be different distributors in each country but Respironics should step up and do whatevere is necessary to get your machine running. Even if it means shipping you a new machine at no charge. CPAP users will read these posts and it will affect their future purchases.
