A Suggestion (if I may)

Post by Linda3032 » Wed Dec 14, 2005 4:29 pm

As a new member of this forum, I’m hesitant to make suggestions, so I hope I don’t offend anyone with this one.

I’ve noticed that very few members put their “pressures” in their profiles. Many of you have to ask what someone’s pressure is before you answer a question. We all know that pressures play a big part in sleep apnea – being compliant and selection of masks.

In my searches regarding “the ideal mask”, I’ve read some wonderful (and awful) reviews of a mask I might be considering. But unless I know the pressure of the reviewer, it might not be pertinent information to my situation. It’s kind of comparing apples to oranges, I think.

An example being the Nasalaire that I’ve used for over 2 years. With the Nasalaire, it seems that people with a low pressure can handle the noise, but anything above 10 or 12 is horrible. At 7, I’ve liked the Nasalaire – until I read this forum (lol), and found there are “more better” masks out there.

My suggestion would be for the forum to add another box in the optional information - one to list the titrated pressure. If that can’t be easily accomplished, then maybe we can list our pressures in the “additional comments” box. I think I just revised mine to include that – if it took.

Anyway, love the forum, the information, and the wonderful people here. The atmosphere is so easy-going and friendly. I feel like I’m “home”.

Linda

Definitely a good thing to be included in your tag line.

Good suggestion. I hope we hear more from you in the future!

Good idea! I've just added mine in the Additional Comments field. Until and unless there's a place for it, it's as good a place as any. Hope it catches on!

You're so right, Linda. Great point!

Oh...almost forgot to mention...I usually keep my autopap range set for 9 - 15, and it usually never gets above 11 or 12.
