DeVilbiss DV54 leaking water

Post by lydiarosep » Sun Feb 27, 2011 6:28 am

What might be the cause of the humidifier chamber leaking water? When I first got the machine I could fill the chamber via the "pour spout"... now when I try to do that the water immediately leaks out as I'm pouring. Further, I wake up in the morning and the dresser is wet... I did wake up one night and see water being spit out of the seam in the chamber. Everything is snapping into place correctly, but the seam between top and bottom is not longer tight... Not even 2 months old? Anyone else encounter this?

Is the silicone seal still in place? I have not had that problem before so i can only think the seal is broken or missing. Hope you get it fixed soon!

I have had my DeVilbiss 7 months now and have not had this issue at all. Be sure you have the chamber top/bottom connected properly. I remember the first time I did the fill, I didn't have the top and bottom engaged properly and had leaks.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

I exchanged the water chamber today and took a good look at the new one. It does appear that the silicone seal (rubber trim around the edge) went missing on my first one. I have no idea what happened to it, but since the original chamber worked for a while and then stopped working I assume it used to be there! I just never noticed it before. At any rate, this should fix it.
