F&P Icon Novo - Smartstick Studio Software?

Hi folks. I purchases a new Icon Novo machine last fall. One of the reasons I liked it was the wake to music/alarm clock feature. There was supposed to be software that came with it that would let you put your own music on the smartstick. Turns out F&P hasn't released the software yet and I haven't been able to get any kind of an answer when it will be available. I found it amazing that they would advertise this feature and even show a screen shot of the software on their website but not actually include it with the machine. I was just wondering if anyone else has this machine and if they have had any word about the software. I'm seriously considering contacting my state attorney general about this. It is an expensive machine and they should not be advertising it with features it does not really have. Has anyone contacted F&P to complain about this?

The technical term for that is "vaporware."

I got an ICON Premo beginning of February. Yes, it came with the software, and the latter installed correctly on my three computers. However, on none of these computers it works! Neither on Windows Vista SP1, nor on Vista SP2, nor on Windows 7 64-bit. On the first two computers I receive an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error message. Ok - the programme shows up afterwards, but tells me that it cannot access my SmartStick. So it is useless. On Windows 7 64-bit, it does not even show up, but I get a simple popup telling me that it is not designed for 64-bit systems, and that I should contact my supplier for an updated version. Haha: Who is my supplier? F&P? I sent them an e-mail weeks ago and never got any feedback. This software is unprofessionally programmed - I wonder whether there's anybody out there where this application works properly...

You might have an express warranty issue since there was was plenty of written material stating that you could use the machine as an MP3 player, but you can't. You should try returning it or perhaps going to small claims court if you cannot return it.

What's interesting to me is that you care about being able to play music on your machine, but I wonder if you are aware that your machine has NO efficacy data? If you have a problem with your apnea or how the machine is delivering therapy, music won't help much. MP3 players and alarms are easy to come by, efficacy data not so much.

Does anyone have the SmartStick Studio software for AlarmTunes? I have some questions about it.

If someone has it, could you please post the file directory listings after adding a song? I'd like to create a Mac app that will do this.

I can't say anything for the studio software but I got the data software an only ever installed it successfully on Windows XP. Maybe you can try installing XP Mode on Windows 7 and see if it works there? I definitely agree that my experience with F&P software has been pretty poor.

I just got the SmartStick Studio CD, and it will not work. It installed the program on my computer fine. When I open the program, it will let me listen to the song I want to transfer to the SmartStick, but when I try to transfer the song, I get an error: Error processing audio(ERR_INVALID_RECORDER). So, this software CD is a total waste of money! I have only found 1 or 2 reviews where the person said the program worked. All the numerous other reviews I read said it would not work. Should have read reviews BEFORE I bought the disk. Live and learn, I guess.
