As a lot of you have read my posts about my early morning chest pains I have the latest and greatest status. After going to the ER and finding nothing wrong my doc sent me in for another sleep study. I specifically told the sleep center, both verbally and on paper I was there for the second study because of the chest pains. I got my results yesterday, recomendation for cpap with nasal mask at a pressure of 11! Mind you, my previous pressure was at 10 and I was waking up with what felt like a knife in my chest. If I dropped my pressure to 8.5 I could still feel some pressure but was able to sleep OK.
Now it's time to take matters in my own hands---First, as my DME is the only one in town and after sending emails with simple questions and not getting any replies, calling and they were always busy or getting the same reply if I walked in, yesterday I fired them. I am now enrolled with Optigen.
Last night I ordered (out of pocket) a new PR system one auto with A-Flex and humidifier from Secondwindcpap. From what others on this forum have said this machine should take care of my chest discomfort problems. I can hardly wait to get started with it and get a great nights sleep.

Re: Fired DME, Ordered a new machine
Thanks Nan. I am very confident that my new (actually gently used) auto will take care of the problem. I am also very glad I dumpted my DME and signed on with Optigen. They really gave me a warm fuzzy about their service. I think I am set now as I will have my auto for home use, my existing machine for travel and shortly I will have a full face mask for when my head gets plugged up. It's onward and upward to a better night's sleep.nanwilson wrote:Sorry to hear you are still having problems Phil, hope this fixes things for you.

I have used Optigen for more than a yar. They have been so easy to deal with. Always kind to speak with. Always ontime with my quarterly packages.
I hope your new machine is just what you need!

Air Force Retired,
I owe you thanks because if it wasn't for people like you serving before me, then I wouldn't have the chance to serve myself.
Thank you for your service and your support.
