Respironics GoLife nasal pillows mask

Post by tattooyu » Fri Feb 04, 2011 3:32 pm

Time for a new mask for me. I get to choose. I already have a full-face and nasal mask, but I primarily use the Swift FX. I was thinking of trying the Respironics GoLife nasal pillows mask, which I searched for on here but found 0 results. Anyone use one? Comments?

I looked at it on cpap.com and they have no realtime stock yet. At first, I thought -- What about women??!! We often find that a lot of masks fit men better.

Then I noted that there will be one for women out soon! I expect I will try it. it may turn out to be like the Swift LT and FX. The one for women just came with smaller pillow sizes.
I see this one comes with all sizes! Good!

Hope you are feeling better Kenny!

I am so glad you pointed this mask out. Looks like something my husband would like as he is a swift ll user.

I like the swift LT so I wouldn't mind trying something like it.

I just ordered one, but they won't be shipping until 2/11.
I'll post back with a review when I've used it a few nights...

I don't know why Philips Respironics didn't wait until both the men's and women's Golife masks were available before they released the information and allowed orders!!????

To me, that whould have made sense!

So, Paul, How is the GoLife? I still have a couple of months before insurance will buy one, but I may brak down and buy one before then if reviews are good.

Oh Hi 2flamingos,
Sorry, I forgot to follow up.
Its a really nice mask. It reminds me of my usual Opus 360 a great deal - the pillows are very close in shape and texture and I think I like the way they at to the head gear better.
I was worried the forward plastic part of the mask with the thin straps would dig in, but that wasn't the case. I think if it was a warm time of year, the thin straps would be cooler. The elastic straps have a lot of adjustment length.
I used it for 4 nights and got good, hassle free (no leak) sleep - remember - I'm used to how the 360 fits.
After my 4 nights I went back to trying to get my Swift FX to work and kinda forgot about it

2/24 EDIT: I remembered last night, one thing I didn't like was the angle of the exhaust port. It seemed to cause a slight breeze around my nose. I'm sensitive to this. I didn't get around to trying to put on a diffuser like I did for the Swift FX (the Opus blows straight out & doesn't seem to have this issue for me).

If you want, PM me with your address and I'll send it to you.

Paul, Thanks for the update. I totally understand how the exhaust can make or break a mask. For me, however, it's not how it blows on me - my partner doesn't like getting hit with the exhaust. My response is usually "would you rather I not wear the mask and rattle the windows with my snoring?" I think I would like to try the GoLife (I usually use an LT, but also have a 360 as back-up).
