Is My Insurance Amazing or What?

Post by sleepy.sleeperson » Fri Feb 04, 2011 12:20 pm

Not 3 weeks after I get my machine, my DME calls and says that my insurance is going to pay for my S9. No co-pay from me, and they don't need to check to see if I'm compliant. That almost seems too good to be true. Is this common?

Don't know how common it might be to not need compliance. Guess it depends on the insurance company. I know that Medicare requires compliance stuff at least once and maybe twice. Not sure what specifics are needed though. Might be written data from machine or might be affirmation from doctor or DME.

It is very nice that you won't need to go down that compliance road. Not a huge deal but one less hassle to deal with.

Good luck.

I guess I'm excited because I was expecting a very detailed analysis of my data (I've been obsessed over averaging 4 hours a night for this reason), and to have to write a hefty check. So, this is very good news for me.

My insurance never checked for compliance. They didn't pay for the whole thing, though.

Sleepy,

My insurance also paid for the entire cost of the machine and requires no compliance data. It was nice to find that out, especially having never needed any type of DME equipment before now, I really was unsure what my portion of the bill was gonna be.
