*NAME THAT MACHINE!"

Post by HeidiHose » Mon Dec 05, 2005 11:06 pm

I was thinkin' the other day that since my CPAP machine and I are so close and go to bed together every night, that I should give "it" a name!

So, I chose a very non-imaginative and original name: "PAPPY!"

What do you want to name your machine?

Is there a name that means "Slow to be of any use, but promising?"

We refer to mine as "Harry the Hose". Harry and I are very close...

Hmmm. A name. This sounds intriguing.
I like Pappy, actually.
Also, Breezy, Windy, Cindy CPAP, Sam CPAP, Hannah Hose.....
I personally wouldn't use Harry the Hose, since one of my dogs is named Harry, and as adorable as he is, having a long-haired dachshund strapped to my face for 8 hours a night wouldn't do either of us any good. But you're not me, so Harry the Hose has a nice ring to it.
I could insert some political humor in here about various folks who spend most of their time blowing out copious amounts of air, but I'm trying desperately to remain non-partisan, in order not to lose any friends!

Where's Mike Moran? We should get him on the case. This is his kinda challenge.

I guess DSM never heard of my famous Shamu. The only proper name for anything with a blow hole. LOL

Though I did toy with:

Bozo - Something about clowns and ballon sculpting
Greenspan - Always concerned about inflation
Price Gouger - Inflation combined with the nostril impalement concept
Congress - Blowing hot air is its specialty
Hollywood - So many inflated people live there
Torquemada - In honor of that famous mask maker
Inga - Because I wanted to tell everyone I had a new bed partner named Inga
ViAIRgra - In hopes that it would pump up more than my lungs

Thanks for the fun names!

Sometimes it helps to add a little humor to these kind of things to make life a little easier!

Me an' my Pappy are newlyweds.

I am totally convinced my PC should be equipped with a breatholizer that I should be required to use when I imbibe in my occasional rum/coke.
My mind wonders far too much and I remember those times I should not have posted.

I mentioned the subject to my wife and she said I should get a life.

Just what name should I give to a delightful life saving companion that responds to whatever settiing I decide and never complains?
Old faithful? no.
Having just celebrated, if anyone can call a 65th birthday as celebrating, just does not capture the essence of such a relationship of person and machine.

Let moi think some more and leave it at that.

According to my DW, that would be my name.
