Laughing with Nose Pillows

Post by Breathe Jimbo » Sun Jan 30, 2011 2:51 am

I had a funny dream last night. I woke up laughing. With the nose pillows on and the machine blowing at 13, I sounded like Daffy Duck. That woke my wife up and made her laugh. Her laughter made me laugh harder, which made her laugh more, which made me laugh all the more -- the whole time sounding like Daffy Duck. Then the dogs started to stir, one on the bed, apparently wondering what all the quacking and commotion were about, which exacerbated the hysterics. All quite bizarre.

We even woke up the old guy to the left, a very deep sleeper.

That's funny!

Of course, now you know that we're all going to try laughing with our nasal masks!!

Imagining having a nightmare and waking up hollering for help with that on..it happened to me. Thank god I knew what was happening and told my wife immediately it was a dream. I've had several dreams since on the cpap which I've never done before.

I have sneezed and "squawked" my nasal pillows a time or two. My sleeping beauty does not find it humorous at all!!

I lie awake afterwards half-expecting to be smothered by a bed pillow at any moment...

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

I have coughed and sound so bad my daughter first thought I was dying. Now she just finds it funny.

Your post made *me* laugh! I have nasal pillows too, and my husband insists on talking to me once I have them in. Of course my voice sounds like I'm on helium when I try to talk with them.

Thanks for sharing. It's not often we find something to laugh about in regards to sleep apnea treatment.

I SOOOOOOO identify with this!
My hubby insists on asking me questions when I'm 'masked up' with my nasal pillows just to be able to laugh at me making duck noises trying to respond.
I'm working on shutting off the flow of air down my throat so I can talk properly, but it often backfires LOL.... not literally of course!

Cheers,
xena
