OT Use it or lose it.

Post by carbonman » Sun Jan 16, 2011 7:19 pm

The 2011 cycling season is officially underway.

Made the first ride, of 2011, up Lookout Mt. today.
Image
Cold...blustery day. Wind was howling at the top.
I'm going to go back to my once a month rides up Lookout.
I didn't do it last year. I think it helps.
It's a short term goal rather than a once a year goal.
It also lets me know where I'm at.

I was bothered by low back pain most of last season.
So, in Oct. I went back to doing my Cyclo-core
back/core work outs. As soon as I got my back into
condition I started doing the Cyclo-Zen yoga.
....and stretching.....everyday.

It has really paid off. My best time from the Pillars at the base
to the top.....42mins. Today, without really pushing...34min.

With this being the year of the Big 6-OH....
which, for the first time, I have some apprehension about,
it's off to a good start.

I'll see you on the road.

to see or feel those changes, you'll never know what you're capable of."
I said that.

What elevation are you climbing to? How beautiful, it must make the ride enjoyable. Sounds as if you have not lost it. Good Luck!

The part that I time myself on is 4.5miles, 1.2K'vertical.

You are so welcome! I was planning on doing it again this year,
but the Denver event was canceled.
We have talked about going to San Diego or San Fran.,
but it's not going to happen. VERY disappointing.

The top is 7.3K'.

....oh, the downhill part....that's what I call dessert.

I did some hiking in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho last Sept. Coming down was much sweeter than the climb, but well worth it. It was beautiful!
