Post by kb2 » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:19 pm

I am wondering if my machine needs calibrating ... i use it 2 hours in the day and at least 8 at night ..however when my RT and Dr read my data .. it shows i am only using it 42 percent a month! ??? My Dr wants me to bring that number up to 72 percent at least.. i am thinking and wondering is something wrong with my machine?

which machine?

it might help if you had a data capable one and can get a download where you can look at the times the therapy was occurring versus when you were using it - perhaps you have a big leak which is preventing the machine from recording "therapy" hours

I have a ResMed 9 machine.
No leaks were noted on the data ..
I would like to get the software for this machine but do not know how to get it .
It really upset me that it showed only 42 percent for the month .. because I use it all the time..
I could take it in to my DME and have them check it out.

The time only counts if you use the machine for 4 hours at a time toward compliance. Jim

My experience with the s9 is that you only get credit for a days use if you use it for more than 4 hours. Doesn't matter if the times are split up like for naps or you have a bad nights sleep, etc.

I would get the software and download your data. It is possible that you are having the same issue that I am. My machine keeps forgetting the date/time, so my compliance data is all messed up because half of my sessions show 2008 or 2009 for the year. DME called yesterday and my new machine is in. ResMed didn't even question the DME when they called to report the issue, they just immediately shipped a replacement machine, so I'm thinking that they know something that they aren't letting on about...

Good luck!

p.s. If you don't want to actually read the data, you could just pop your SD card into your computer and go into the Datalog folder and look at the file dates and see if they are all showing correct dates.
