Consolidating data from two System 1 units

Post by alex a » Wed Jan 12, 2011 6:23 am

I have a DS250 and a DS550. The latter I purchased on my own and am very happy with it. I travel for work related reasons quite a bit and so I use the 250 as my travel unit as I would rather have any dings/dents on that one versus the more costly unit.

Is there a way to consolidate data from these 2 units on to one card. I usually only travel 1-3 days at a time but occassionally I do have to travela week at a time. My doc wants me to return once more for follow-up at 6 months since start of CPAP to download the data from my machine. I would like to have all of the data on one card so that when they run it in the software it will show accurate compliance.

I tried on my last trip to install the 550 card in the 250 and when I got back checked the data and all my other (550) data had disappeared and was replace by the 250 machine's data.

Looks like you tried my one suggestion! If it didn't work to use the same card in both machines, then I think you will just have to have two cards with two readouts. Unless someone more familiar with the intricacies of the files/format can help you out. I know there are a few forum members who know more about the file formats than I do. There may be a way to do it, but sorry I can't help.

I don't think the two can be consolidated. I'm pretty sure that would be why there are checksums and other properties on the data card -- to be sure the data is not tampered with.

It is possible to drag the data file of one machine onto the card of another -- just drag the serial number folder into the P0 folder. But I'm pretty sure it won't upload properly in the software (I don't have a Windows computer at my fingertips to check).

Better to just bring the two cards with you and explain.

I'm guessing that your doctor should be able to upload the data from each card into your account in his Encore Pro software which will combine the data there, but not on the card itself. You just need to bring both cards to the doctor. To confirm that this actually works, you can private message (PM) me for further discussion.

I was able to make it work following some suggestions from this board. I loaded the datacard I use in my travel machine and assigned the card to myself. Encore Pro then added the data to the current user - me.

When after a week of using my home machine I loaded its card then the blank data from the travel machine was filled in although without waveform except for the last 48 hours.

Thanks to all!
