There is NO chat moderator. There is a troll who poses as a moderator.

If you are having trouble in the chat room, ignore the bad guys or get out. It's the wild west in there--you need to take care of yourself.

what a shame a few idiots have to ruin it for everyone. I have learnt so much by being in the chat room and have met some really neat people. surely there must be an administrator for this site? i would happily be a chat moderator if i had admin rights and kick out the troublemakers!

Idiots? Yes. There are idiots everywhere. Ruined? Hardly. If you don't like what's going on in chat just go away and come back later. The same way people do when the subject bores them. It will probably be a totally different group and a new subject the next time. If it were really ruined you could hardly have learned so much or met such neat people, could you?

Maybe the least Johnny could do is post a disclaimer that chat is not moderated, that anyone claiming to be a moderator is not, and that people should enter and use the chat room at their own risk.

I think Jan is correct to say it is the "wild west" in there - not always but can be. The chat crowd does vary during the day /week etc.

I also think Jan is right to say you enter at your own risk. We have someone or perhaps more than one person who has locked people up in the past (including me) with a bot. I wasn't in chat last night when whatever happened.
