Funnel to fill humidifier
Funnel to fill humidifier
How many of you use a funnel. I saw one and was thinking of buying it. I am kinda messy when I fill my humidifier, not to mention its hard to see the full line. I am seriously planning on getting the dishwasher safe reusable chamber at 6 months.
Anyone find a small funnel that is easy to use? I have also figured out it takes me two months to use a gallon of distilled water. So its cheaper just buy the bottle distilled that to go the route of distilling myself.

Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
yes, I have a small white plastic funnel and a plastic measuring cup that I use I know exactly how much water it takes per night and I allow a little more.
You can pick one up at Dollar Tree for about 50 cents.

Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
I got the funnel....I don't know why I put up so long without one. Now I'm less likely to miss and get water onto the humidifier or nightstand when filling, and I can do it faster.....though i still splash over when the tired or clumsy is too much or I'm in too much of a hurry.
My machine came with two disposable tanks, so I'm on the second one now. I made the switch to the second tank when the first one got disgusting last summer. While I only fill it with distilled water, I hadn't emptied out in a while....and I guess stuff in the air was collecting in the water got to a concentration where it looked pretty disgusting (cloudy and pink). I was going to empty it out and clean it, but remembered its a disposable tank and the machine had come with a second. So I got out the new tank. I then ordered the permanent tank for it.
But, the other day I was doing an online order...and decided to see about humidifier parts to pad the order, so I bought another disposable tank. Probably easier to keep doing that anyways.
I got almost a year and half out of the first tank, probably could've gone longer if I had emptied it out regularly. Which reminds me....

I see you're in the Carolina's. If you distill the water yourself doesn't it have the leftover smell of the whiskey from the last batch? Or maybe not.msradar65 wrote:How many of you use a funnel. Now that winter is really here my hum. has to be filled every 2 nights. In the summer every 3-4 nights. Someone could make a million dollars if they could invent something that would enable the user to put a 1 gal. jug of distilled water next to the hum. and the hum. would just suck it dry. Come on all you engineers, get going. It would save taking off the hum. and filling it about 150 times a year.

ok, I think I will check out dollar store and get a cheap funnel. I was going to get the respironics funnel...until the shipping is $7 for a $1.50 funnel! I think NOT!

Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
Huh? It's more like spend $98.50 to get the $1.50 funnel shipped free. And, you get all sorts of other goodies along with the funnel.msradar65 wrote:ok, I think I will check out dollar store and get a cheap funnel. Though I admit, it is getting harder and harder to figure out what other goodies I want to get shipped free with the thing I'm buying.
Or you could wait until some site is offering free shipping on any size order....I took advantage of one on Christmas....though I wasn't that far under the threshold to get free shipping normally, except that it was free air shipment versus the normal free ground shipment.

Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
I thought my tank did too. Tho I must admit to not ever using it even once.OutaSync wrote:My machine came with a little funnel
1st it seems like you'd need 3 hands to use a funnel, hold the chamber then pour the water.
then it would serve to transfer more contamination from dirt, dust, n germs, etc. unless you were into cleaning more things and I'm NOT.
I do just pour directly from the bottle it came in. That seems the easiest and most sanitary to me.
Maybe that's why some have to clean their chambers more often?
oh and I keep the distilled water right next to where it needs to be used at.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

I use a funnel that I purchased at an auto parts store for about a dollar. It works great!
Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
I found a funnel at the dollar store that folds flat. Really convenient.
Re: Funnel to fill humidifier
Is a $1 funnel really worth all this conversation????
