Help change settings on REMstar Auto CFlex machine

Post by boosmum » Mon Dec 20, 2010 1:06 am

I just got a new loan machine and it's different to my last one. This one is a REMstar Auto CFlex. It doesnt have a manual with it and it's too late to call the office now.

I held down the ramp button and got a menu but don't know what all the symbols I saw mean.

Can anyone help?? My ramp starts at 6 but it doesn't FEEL like the c-flex is on or up high enough?? Any help??

i'm trying to download the manual now but i'm on dial up internet and it's SUPER SUPER slow for things like that so thought here might be quicker.

Thanks in advance.

what model number? tank / legacy? m series? PR1? - if it is a tank there were two different APAP's around - one had Cflex other didn't - need the blue sticker for cflex I think

I've got no idea about any of what you asked LOL...

It's this one https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/respi ... cflex.html looks exactly the same with the blue sticker and all LOL!!

okay - that answers it for me - that is my machine

while plugging it in (I use a power strip and hit the on switch myself) push down the two small arrow keys under the LED panel - not the heat / ramp but the two little gray arrows - do that until it beeps - I get 3 beeps -

you will be in the clinical menu then - there are several settings - you use the arrow keys and to move through the menu and the heat ramp to up/down the options -

you will probably want AFLE -or something like that - that is auto with flex, APAP is w.o flex, CPAP and CFLE are without and with cflex respectively

the next thing seems to be min pressure, then max, then cflex - they are small print in the LED

there are several things you can change along the way - wulfman has it all listed somewhere

let me know how it goes - I will check back in a few

hitting the start button takes you out of the menu

OK so I managed to change it to AFLE as it was on APAP. Thank you. I hope that will be better.

When no in the clinicians menu, just in "my" menu done by holding down ramp button, there is something in there which confuses me. It's on the left side of screen and it's a F in a speach bubble type thing. It has lots of numbers like 1:1 and then they can be changed etc.... what is that ?? LOL!!!

they are time in ramp or split study

if you are running auto, you can NOT use ramp on this machine - you can use ramp in cpap mode however

there is the ability to set up what is called a split study - you also don't want that

those numbers might be for that

I have my ramp set at 0 min so when I push the ramp button there is nothing coming up

LOL ok i'll leave all that well alone then

Since i've changed it to AFLEx it still starts at 6 but are you saying it will just go up immediately when needed?? My last machine stayed at 6 for say 15 minutes and that was a pain because I often wanted it to go up quicker so it would be good if it does that. Is there no option to change the amount of AFLEX used? I had the PR system 1 before this and recall I could choose how much I wanted for that feature.

Thank you for all your help!!

aflex is not available - just cflex

if you used AFLE then there is a choice of 1,2 or 3 for amounts after the pressure

check your pms in a second -

Bill,
I would suggest starting out up at the top--click on New Users, and also check out the CPAP Wiki (the light bulb). There is a LOT of good information there. Then, just start reading the forums. Feel free to start a new topic if you have questions. This is a very helpful group of people.
