F4 self-sealing silicone tape a MUST for Climateline!

Post by Laurie1041 » Tue Dec 14, 2010 9:05 pm

Well, my burst Climateline hose is completely repaired and fully operational after I spent less than 5 minutes applying the F4 self-sealing silicone "tape". I believe that this tape may be available at Home Depot, however, I purchased mine on Amazon.com for approximately $15.00 including shipping.

I highly recommend having a role of the F4 tape available if you use the Climateline hose - just in case of a puncture or tear. Laurie

It's pretty sad that some of these hoses are obviously defective. Some are industrial strength and some fail with normal use. When the end user has to repair something that should last at least a year, it seems that Resmed would take notice, instead of ignore it. john

Thanks for the post, sounds like good inexpensive insurance for this hose.

Update: I thoroughly tested the Climateline hose after completing the repairs with the F4 tape - no leaks. I hosed up last night and to my dismay, I heard the distinct sound of escaping air. Sure enough, the hose sprung another leak, this time in the middle of the tubing.

I think it is fair to say that I gave this particular defective hose a fair chance and into the trash it went. My new hose is due to arrive today. My DME indicated that Resmed warranties their hoses for 90 days so this replacement hose is at no cost to me. I wonder if Resmed warranties replacement of "replacement" hoses as well? Laurie
