Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox?
Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox?
I know some here use pulse oxs, just wonder if I need to think about getting one. My AHI at sleep study was 69, desats to 76, started XPAP in aug, now using auto ' things have settled to AHI usually 1-2 occasionally 3, felling good, sleeping well most of the time. Pressure is still all over the place, but that's why I have an auto. I dont have any other health problems. So, Santa is generous, but not bottomless, I thought battery back up was first priority, and have that now . How often does everyone check their O2 ? Do I need to worry if I don't?

Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox? I would for sure. Nice to have, yes.
But the 2 times I wore one at home I found it a bit uncomfortable and kinda like getting used to sleeping with plastic on your face. Best to tape the sensor to your finger or it will come off.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

My stats went to 58 just at night therefore was put on Oxygen (2 liters) at night with CPAP. My pulmonologist checks my O2 every three months. New at all of this CPAP stuff - just curious - what is XPAP?

x is the variable -- it could be cpap, bipap, apap -- since people here use different type machines, it's sometimes referred to as xpap.matheson wrote:My stats went to 58 just at night therefore was put on Oxygen (2 liters) at night with CPAP. My doctor orders a pulse ox before every appointment. I see her 3 or 4 times a year, but I invested in a pulse ox monitor so I could check it more frequently. If something goes awry, I don't have to wait weeks for my doctor to do the test.

I bought one from coopermedicalsupplies.com months ago. I find it's a good tool.
I need to say too, that Kevin Cooper the owner gives a more than excellent after sale service and I found the prices very good too. I have no shares from coopermedicalsupplies
Ask Santa to speak with Kevin Cooper

Tell Santa that the "cool" tool is available from

You'll find it to be very valuable.......

Re: Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox?
Rosacer, and Gerald, thanks for the links, now a softwear question, is it easy to use? I don't think I really need to sync it with anything, or even if that's possible. I use encore viewer and am not very computer savvy, so easy is better. Just want an occasional check that O 2 is good, don't need minute by minute. Thanks again, Kathy

The software that is included with the SPO-7500 is easy to use....gives good reports.....
Re: Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox?
Thanks Gerald, looks like time to give Santa the info. I see you are from La, my hubby is from Lake Charles, we don't get there often though.

You should be visiting LC now......much warmer. My condolences for your present weather conditions.......
Re: Should I ask Santa for a pulse ox?
It is kinda nasty here, builds character though Ive offered to take my LC nephews ice fishing up here, but they declined when I told them they had to keep the bait warm in their mouths .
