I've been "here" for a couple days now and gotten some great suggestions! But, I have a few more questions....I'll try to be brief.
First, I'm currently doing a desensitizing "program" to try and get used to this mask. It's been an hour and things are going ok, except that I seem to have develop a headache. Could that be from the mask or something else? Also, how long should I try this? I've had such a hard time with masks and using the machine in the last 8 months that I feel like I'm at the end of my rope, but still willing to try anything to be successful.
Second, I've seen a lot of references to the software people are using. Where do I find this info? I've tried looking through the machine's documentation, but it doesn't tell me where to look. I supposed a call to the DME company would help, but sometimes it's tough to get through to one of the therapists.
Third, where do I find out what all the acronyms (AHI, etc.) mean and where to find that info?
I can't say THANKS! enough for this forum and for those of you who share your experiences and insight. I finally feel like I can get through the current difficulties and be successful with this BiPap.

Re: Newbie Questions
if you try the DME they'll tell you that you aren't supposed to have it... so don't go there with a software question.
Question is though, which BiPap do you have? Is it a phillips respironics or is it a Resmed VPAP?

Re: Newbie Questions
It's a Resmed VPAP Adapt SV. I tried to edit my profile to add all the info, but for some reason, it didn't take.
Re: Newbie Questions
ok... then you'll want Rescan... not sure what kind of data you'll get off that machine though. You'll also need a card reader which may have to be ordered from overseas somewhere
to get the software... pm Uncle_bob

Hi,
Linda
See the CPAP Wiki (yellow light bulb) at the top of the screen? It has all sorts of info. Open that and on the left side, you will see "Definitions." That will give you a good start.hoosierGreg wrote:Third, where do I find out what all the acronyms (AHI, etc.) mean and where to find that info?

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
Re: Newbie Questions
One place you can get the software is apneaboard.com, http://s7.zetaboards.com/Apnea_Board/topic/8276795/1/. You have to register. What kind of hardware interface do you have for downloading the data?
Good luck, keep with it.
