Breaking the Rules

Post by Ichabod » Tue Nov 30, 2010 7:52 pm

So I have been away for quite some time. I still use my CPAP every night after all these years, but I have a confession. I am using the same mask that I got over 4 years ago when I started on CPAP. It is like an old friend... of an old pair of shoes... it is just broken in. The trouble is that the head gear is so worn out now that it has started to fall off me at night and what I believe is my wife blowing in my ear is really my old friend the Swift. Does anyone know why simply replacing the head gear and the pillow not be as effective as replacing the entire mask? We have been through so much together you see...

Really the harder plastic pieces will last for a long time. So really all that has to be changed is the headgear and cusions. That being said the new swift fx is much better than the swift 1or swift 2. Swift 1 parts can be hard to come by these days. I would look at the swift fx and if not just replace the needed parts.

Here is a video that shows the swift fx http://www.sleepnation.tv/post/1521698704/episode6
