Help..Humidifier Leaks

Post by vikingblade » Sun Nov 28, 2010 1:08 am

hi guys.. im using a respironics avaps machine and a Respironics Remstar Heated Humidifier..http://remstarhumidifiers.respironics.com/Default.asp the machine sits on the humidifier base and the water chamber kinda slides into position and into avaps. there is a removable flapper thingee..coupler that interfaces between the humidifier and machine. i am often getting leaking in this spot...very frustrating. after changing the water..i need to take that coupler/flapper thing in and out several times to stop the leak. its about 5 months old and prob needs to be replaced.. but, gotta wait another month for medicare to cover new humidifier.

i am not currently using it as a heated humidifier..just passive..

is there another humidifier..passive that i can use to just go right into my machine with the tube, for a better seal..meaning dont have to use an interface coupler thing.. can i use any standard passive humidifier, as long as tubing fits..

has anyone else had trouble or experience with this humidifier...http://remstarhumidifiers.respironics.com/Default.asp

as always..thanks for the input
