It has been 3 months since I started bipap auto with biflex therapy
When I first started I could not exhale against the pressure of the machines ( I had regular cpap but I could not use)
So the dme set me for 6 inhale and 4 inhale n. My average for 7 day and 30 day is 10 inhale and 7 exhale
I'm having body jerks tonight and I can't fall asleep because they are keeping me awake
Please help me. Should I increase my pressures? Will I vet better results? Ii need to sleep tonight
Should I change my pressure?
Re: Should I change my pressure?
I am also in a different state because of thanksgiving. I wonder if altitude matters
Re: Should I change my pressure?
Please help guys
I need to sleep even for an hour Is it possible that I developed complex apnea due to using cpap?
What can I do
Are those ASV machines really fix it all?

Re: Should I change my pressure?
Good Morning.
I guess everyone else was sleepin while you were up at 3-4am. I am sorry. I too am struggling to get adjusted and very new to the machine and this site, but in regards to altitude there is a yellow light bulb at the top of the home page "wiki" which has a blurb on altitude. I dont know that much about my new machine to advise you, but do think you can adjust the altitude. And as far as adjusting the pressure, I figured that out myself and YES did change the pressure as the physicians office didnt even have the decency to respond back. humdinger1 is very tired this morning.

Re: Should I change my pressure?
I don't understand why you want to change your pressure. Body jerks? For one night? Unless you have a better reason for changing your pressure at just three months out without even trying to talk to your DOC (I know- thanks giving weekend) I would leave it alone. Especially since you have other issues going on. I believe most machines are equipped to deal with pressure changes unless you are on Everest. Good Luck. Hope you finally got some sleep last night. You might try some Tylenol PM tonight to see if that helps.
You have probably not gone to Central sleep apnea at your pressures- especially if you did not show central sleep apnea during your sleep test. ASV machines are very specialized machines designed to treat complex and central sleep apnea. You don't want to go there unless it's warranted. First you have to fail BiPap and CPAP and show a goodly number of central apneas in a sleep test. They deliver backup timed respirations. Are you able to read your machine data, what does it show for AHI and AI? These would be the only reason for you, or your DOC/ DME to change your pressures. What is your respiratory rate? What did your sleep study show as far as centrals. Higher pressures can tend to bring them on.
Again, good luck. And let us know those other numbers. Hopefully you are sleeping in.

Re: Should I change my pressure?
I'm sorry you're having such a rough night. I don't know anything about jerks like you describe, but I don't think people here can give you a "yes" or "no" about changing your pressure. Like Maryz said, I know it's T-Giving weekend, but you really need to check in with your respiratory therapist (if you have one) and/or your doctor.
I hope things settled down and you got some sleep -- and that things are better tonight.

Re: Should I change my pressure?
How did you do last night? Still having the jerking movements? Able to sleep? Have you had a chance to check your numbers- AI and AHI?
I hope Thanksgiving night went better that the night before. If you're traveling, get with us when you get home and keep us posted on how you're doing.
