Resmed S9 autoset SD card
Resmed S9 autoset SD card
I am curious as to what size SD card the Resmed S9 autoset use? I have lots of SD cards laying around...so I was thinking about using my own card...that way DME can't keep taking the cards back.

I use a 2 gig from Wally World in mine. When I mailed the one that came with my s9 to the sleep lab it came back dead.
Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
Any card greater than about 50 mb should be big enough.msradar65 wrote:I am curious as to what size SD card the Resmed S9 autoset use? I have lots of SD cards laying around...so I was thinking about using my own card...that way DME can't keep taking the cards back.
The most there will be on the card is a 365 day summary data file less than 100 kb, 30 days of detail data files of about 100 kb to 300 kb per day (about 10 mb max total), and 7 days of high resolution files of about 3 mb max per day (about 20 mb total), for a total of somewhere in the order of 30 to 40 mb. The size of the files depends on how long you sleep. There's about 100 to 200 other files on the card, all less than 1 kb in size but occupying 4 kb data space each. The above numbers are based on my backup data folders and represent about 7 to 8 hrs sleep each day. I don't use the CPAP for naps. There's a pair of detail and hi res files for each mask session during the 24 hr S9 day, but the file size from 3 mask sessions over 8 hrs will be about the same size as one 8 hr long mask session. That's why I give the above estimate based on days.

Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
The standard ResMed card is 1 Gb.
I wouldn't use anything smaller than that, but any card 1 Gb or greater will work. This includes SDHC cards.
There is no advantage in using a card greater than 1 Gb.

Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
Actually, has anyone tried a card larger than 1Gb, say 4Gb or 8Gb in the S9?
The stock card only holds 9 days of data and I'd like to keep a full month's worth of data so I don't have to worry about losing data if I miss my weekly download.
Best,
Chris

Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
Maybe I should have been more clear in my answer above. The 365 day, 30 day, and 7 day, time frames are hard coded into the S9 firmware. Cards larger than 1 Gb will not save more data because more days of data will not be written by the machine. When you have 7 days of hi res data, and 30 days of detail data, the S9 erases the oldest data when it writes new data. Are you sure you have only 9 days of data on your card? How many days have you used the card after the last time it was formatted or erased? Look in the datalog directory and count how many days of xxxxxxxxxxBRP.edf and xxxxxxxxxxxxxPLD.edf files you have on it.kickaha wrote:Actually, has anyone tried a card larger than 1Gb, say 4Gb or 8Gb in the S9?

If you miss a weekly download you will lose flow data. No way around it.

Hello:
The sleep Doc only requested my card only once in more than 6 month's of therapy.I've downloaded my data every day since i started therapy, and i have never reformmated or erased the card (Not that i know how to ) my computer skills are VERY limited. My question's are how much compliance data does the card stores and what other data could my sleep doc get from my card? My next app.to see her is in March of next year.Should i try reformmatting the card?Would i erased anything that my sleep doc might need to check? She probably wont ask for the card until March. Phil

Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
I'll send more info later today. If the doc wants to see the card do not reformat or erase it until right after he sees it.ZQuest wrote:My question's are how much compliance data does the card stores and what other data could my sleep doc get from my card? Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
I back up the 1 GB card supplied by my DME provider weekly. I just select all the contents of the card from the drive folder and drag them into another folder on my hard drive. Regardless of how full the card may get I have a record of every day that I have used my machine.
Never, never, never, never say never
Re: Resmed S9 autoset SD card
The summary data file is what is used for compliance review, i.e. how many hours the mask was on and what days was it used. Here's a complete list of the data in the summary file and best as I can, an explanation of what each one is. Excuse the typos and missing words, please. This data is what you see in the summary and statistics views in Resscan. The fact your doc only asked to see the card once in 6 months indicates to me he/she is not particularly interested in what exactly happens during the night other than the AHI index looks OK and your mask is not leaking. You will notice there is no flow info in the summary data other than pressures.ZQuest wrote:My question's are how much compliance data does the card stores and what other data could my sleep doc get from my card?
Any time your doc looks at your card he can see all the detail charts you see in Resscan, except he will see only 7 days of flow data and 30 days of detail data. Experience may very well have taught docs that detail data older than 7 days and 30 days from today is of minimal value. When you download and save the data it stays in your Resscan file on the PC so you can look at everything you've ever saved.

Thanks: Idamtnboy
This answer a lot of my questions,i've been downloading on Resscan for this same reason, i did not want to loose any data at least for the first year of therapy this way if there is any issues with my insurance and my therapy compliance i would have the necesary data for them and also to keep track of my therapy .On my last visit to the Doc i gave her copies of some my Oximeter reports and she seem's very surprised and satisfied with the results. Now if i could only learn how to post some of these reports i would be a happier and smarter Hozer I'm still trying to learn how to copy and paste' (too many year's with untreated SA )but i will eventually get it
Again thanks for your replies Phil
