Happy, happy, happy. New S9 Autoset arrived today.

Post by spinifex » Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:19 am

G'day all,

Made a call today and found out my S9 Autoset had arrived. Just got home from picking it up. Can't wait to try it out.
The one i was using was a rental, a Remstar PR1 Automatic CPAP, which i had for just over a month.
Lots to learn, manuals to read, software to play with. I feel like a little kid that got an early Christmas present.
Hopefully i won't annoy you guys and girls with too many questions, as the brain isn't what it used to be.

Cheerio

Jon

Congrats on the new machine! Have lots of fun playing with it and getting the software going. Ask all the questions you need to! If you're asking a question, there are others with the same question that will also benefit from the answer you get!

Congrats.

When you get this up and running well, it will be interesting to hear your comparison of the S9 to the PR S1.

Thanks for the kind words. For some reason i managed only 3 1/2 hrs last night.
Still getting the mask comfortable has a bearing on it, i'm sure.
Checked the sd card in the computer and found after around 2 hrs i had a fairly large air leak.
As i was overtired when i went to bed, my thoughts are leaning towards me rolling around too much trying to get comfortable and pushed the mask around at that time.
I'll give it a bit more time and maybe post the results for comment in a few days.

cheerio

Jon.

I heard that the S9 is one honey of a machine!! Congrats!! Regarding the mask--maybe you want to try some new ones out. I tried like 8 before I found the holy grail of masks. I love the nasal pillow ones--I am a side sleep and they are very confortable so do not be afraid to try to some new ones out to see if that helps,

Good Luck!!
Carrie

Thanks Carrie,

So far i have been one full night on the S9. First try was 3.5hrs.
Might take up your suggestion to try out some different masks a bit later when i have a few spare $$$$.
The handbrake was extremely happy last night as i did not disturb her in any shape, size or form, as in the past my restlesness and snoring kept waking her up.
Then to top it off, i used to stop breathing , which made it harder for her to get back to sleep. At least we're off to a good start.
