Bacterial Filter and Adjusting my Machine

Post by goldsmithf » Wed Nov 10, 2010 1:25 pm

I have attached a bacterial filter between my humidifier port and my hose. Do I need to have any adjustments made to the machine as a result of this?

I think I feel a slight decrease in pressure although it may just be in my head!

Thanks

Fred

It's not in your head, read the literature with your filter. Many of the bacterial filters will reduce the pressure at the mask. That's why I've never gone that route, opting for the higher quality filter in the back of the device pre "compression".

How to adjust it, etc is beyond my expertise.

If I am not mistaken the bacterial filter should be inserted BEFORE the humidifier as it will trap the moisture and increase the tube resistance thus reducing the pressure. NO I don't think it's in your head. What is the reason for the filter?
