WACKOOOOOO HAIR

Post by vester1 » Fri Nov 05, 2010 6:54 pm

Wearing my face mask makes the hair on the back of my head look as though a bomb went off; knots, tangles etc. Is there something one can do to resolve this tangled mess??

If your hair is long enough, try pigtails or a ponytail (depending on the configuration of your headgear).

I finally got an excuse to get my hair cut short and permed.
The wacky still happens; but it's a lot easier to repair.

When I first started on c-pap I was so upset because of the straps from the mask, then the straps from the chin strap, then the guard in my mouth so I don't grind my teeth, then the mask....it all just left marks and smashed down hair.
Now I have to laugh (what else can you do?) as sleeping all night and waking up feeling so good is so much more important than my hair. Not to diminish how you feel, I do understand about the hair thing, as it does get in the way and even itches. But, then so does my nose as soon as I put the mask on and get all comfortable. I've just resigned myself to wash my mop everyday like it or not.
I do see your not going on about this same thing, so I guess I'm just venting about having to wash my hair everyday now.

What a pain all this is........but soooo worth it
Hope someone has a good solution for you, as I need one too.

Wear a cotton sleep cap or a "Buff" under the headgear. You'll wake up with flat hair, but not tangled. I wet down my hair and blow dry to fluff it up again in the morning.

I just got this hat from lands End, it is microfleec with a ponytail hole in the back, it helps keep my headgear from sliding around. It is very lightweight nad not too hot.
