Cpap mask

Post by bones1000 » Wed Nov 03, 2010 7:54 am

Howdy all I use a comfort gel mask and am needing a new one but have been told that my old prescription is no longer any good. I don't have the money to go back to the doctor and buy a new mask. Does any one know of some place that I can buy a new mask without a prescription. Any help would be appreciated.

Your prescription is valid for cpap.com - it has no expiry date. If you don't have a copy insist on getting a copy of it- they may charge you $5 -10 for the transaction but they must give it to you. Also realize just about anyone can write one for you including your dentist, PA or nurse it doesn't need to be your sleep doctor.

bones....Often you don't need a completely new mask...only a replacement cushion insert or headgear.

Exactly. I may be new but I know this to be true. I called my General Practitioners office the other day asking for a copy of my prescription and they called back a day or so later and had written a brand new one and left it at the desk for me. They just wrote on it CPAP mask and supplies. I assume that is sufficient and general enough to get me what I want\need.

Yes I only need a replacement cushion insert and headgear. I thought I needed a prescription for the parts too.

cpap.com will fax your doctor a prescription form.
I called my doc to give them the heads up; and it was done;.
My prescription is on file in my account, and it's for 99 months.
Not sure if it automatically renews after 8.25 years. . .
