I had asked this once before but it might have gotten lost in my post. If my sleep Lab will not write a prescription I might need a Mexican Doc to do this. What information is usually written on the precription? How is it worded? Based on my tests will there be some one on this forum that can suggest initial settings ( an auto machine) or will my supplier know this? Thanks
Bob

Re: Prescription
A prescription has to have your name on it. It will also have to say cpap, bipap, apap, bi-level, etc. Something including one of those terms.
It will also have to have a setting on it. It might be a specific pressure such as 12cm. It might be a range such as 12-15 if it's an APAP. It should have 2 numbers if it's a BiPAP or BiLevel such as 12/8 or something.
It will also have to have the drs signature.
Note that you may run into issues getting a prescription filled with in one country when written from another. It will depend on the provider, their federal, state and local requirements as well as any accredidation agencies they work with.
For example at one company I worked at we were required by state law to verify a dr's credentials, verify that they had a physical office location and that it was a valid place of business (ie obtain a copy of the business license) as well as verify the accredidation of the school the dr graduated from. In cases where a dr was out of the country we often could not verify the last 2 so we were legally not allowed to take any prescriptions from those doctors.

Re: Prescription
I'm in Canada and had no trouble at all using my 'local' prescription with Cpap.com.
