Mike's Update (1st week with machine)

Post by livemix » Thu Nov 10, 2005 4:54 pm

Well I still want to thank EVERYONE for the words of encouragement and great advice.

I contacted my Doctor as people sugested and they lowered my pressure to 10 and I can actually do OK with that.. Still using the ramp feature to try to fall asleep.. I am up to 6.5 hours on the machine at night.. Still not sleeping great but I DO notice I have gone from getting up to urinate 4 to 5 times a night to now getting up just once.. AND I think it's because the mask seal breaks and wakes me up and I am programed to go to the bathroom I still find the air too cold when it wakes me up at night but other than a slightly soar nose.. the moisture lev in my nose seems fine..

The most helpful person has been the therapist from the homecare place that set my machine up.. He called me and says the doctors around here are too slow to try to get things right with the machine.. So he gave me a portable pulse-ox machine thingy to wear tonight. He said he can print out my nights report and see in a very basic way how I am doing and how the pressure is. So I look forward to tomorrows results..

I will keep everyone updated.

Hey Livemix,

Congratulations on getting off on the right foot with your therapy. it takes time to really get used to wearing the mask, but all in all you are doing fantastic. Everyday is a new chance at being wide awake and alert. Baby steps.
