Another question about Resmed S9 filters
Another question about Resmed S9 filters
I recently bought a package of the cpap.com generic filters for the Resmed S9. I have noticed that one side is smooth and the other side is a bit more textured. What side should be facing in towards the machine?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Another question about Resmed S9 filters
Hi,
I removed the original filter from my S9, and both sides are absolute equal.
cpap.com sells not original Resemd filters.

Astrophytum

Yes, I know that the original Resmed filters feel the same on both sides. I was asking about the filters not made by Resmed---the ones sold by cpap.com ---- which I am using now.
Re: Another question about Resmed S9 filters
I think the textured side should face the air-flow, the smooth side should face the interior of the machine. The reason I recommend this way is that the textured side has a bit more surface area and so should catch more stuff on the way into the machine.kodaikid wrote:I recently bought a package of the cpap.com generic filters for the Resmed S9. How often are you changing your filters?
My manual says every six months or sooner. My DME said same as my home A/C filters (so about every 90 days).
Thanks,
Cory

Thanks for the answer!
I have only had my Resmed S9 since early June. Even though both the manual and my RT say to change every 6 months, I changed the filter after 90 days. I have 2 dogs and there is a lot of hair and dust floating around this house!

Go to Resmed.com they have a 'contact us' site with a phone number.gvz wrote:Does anyone know *for sure*? TX18366 explanation sounds reasonable and logical, but maybe we need to place a phone-call to the parent site to ask. I've been wondering the same thing.

I know for sure that the respironics filters are textured side out. I'd think it's a fair assumption that the generics work the same way.
Re: Another question about Resmed S9 filters
I have read some place that Resmed makes HEPA filters for the S9. Is this true? What a nice deal that would be!

Re: Another question about Resmed S9 filters
Resmed does not directly sell HEPA Filters. They do offer Hypo-Allergenic filters for replacement of the S8 & S9 models. You can purchase Bacteiral filters that are standard for all CPAP units that fit between the Hose and the Facemask. I found some good ones for the Resmed S9 series on a site called CPAP filters or supplies something dot com. They also sell the Bacterial filters.
