My mask needs some WD40
This is kind of a silly question. I have a Resmed Mirage Micro nasal mask and the elbow where the hose hooks up to it is awfully squeaky when it rotates. It is really annoying in the middle of the night when I'm moving around. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do or use as maybe a lubricant of some sort??

It looks the same as the elbow for the Quattro. Take the elbow off and use a couple of wraps of teflon tape. You can find it in the plumbing department at most major stores.

I have a solution!!!! Finally someone has asked about the ONE CPAP problem that I managed to solve! Yiiippppeee!!
OK, so here's what you do... After every time you wash your mask (whether you do it daily or weekly), take KY liquid and rub some around the part where the elbow fits on. If you wash your mask less frequently than weekly, you'll have to see if it starts to squeak before you get to washing your mask again. Surely something else may work, too, like vegetable oil or something, but I read somewhere KY works, and it does.

I put one drop of mineral oil where the two parts of the swivel on my Swift FX meet. It was sucked into the space by capillary action, which will hold it there. I then wiped off the little bit of excess oil on the surface. My sticky swivel now rotates smoothly.

I just might have some of that.... Thanks, I will have to try that. However, I do not have any Astroglide. Anyway, if I use this stuff on my mask, it won't turn me on will it??SleepingUgly wrote:I have a solution!!!! Finally someone has asked about the ONE CPAP problem that I managed to solve! Well I would think that depends upon what you are doing with the mask. What are you doing with it, exactly?prefer2breathe wrote:Anyway, if I use this stuff on my mask, it won't turn me on will it??

Re: My mask needs some WD40
Be really careful what you use for a lubricant. Many oil-based lubricants will in time attack plastics. I have never used KY jelly, but something tells me that it is more likely to be OK than other things. Teflon-based grease might be OK, in small amounts. This should be food grade if you use it.
DO NOT use any lubricants if you use oxygen, unless they are specifically designed for that use. Oxygen + hydrocarbons + pressure = fire! Teflon tape should be OK in this instance, if that works for you.
