use Tubing Wrap for S9 ClimateLine or not?

Hi,

I have an question:

Can I use a Tubing Wrap for S9 ClimateLine or not?

I'm not sure to use a tubing wrap, that was Resemd made, für my ClimatLine from S9. I think the hose is overheating, isn't it?

overheating is not possible. Why you want to use a tubing wrap? The Climate Line hose has a sensor to control the temperatur in your mask.

Yes, that's ok so.

I wont to use the hose while I sleep in a very cold bedroom. In winter my bedroom is not heated, so I have a temperature of 40°F in Minimum. So I want to use a Tube wrap for 'helping to heat', safe energie.

Why does I get condensation? I have set 86°F in Climate Control.

Can I use a Tubing Wrap for S9 ClimateLine or not?

I'm curious about this too. Not because of rainout, because I don't get any rainout, as temperatures are in the 70s degrees Fahrenheit. I am using a SnuggleHose on my ClimateLine (with no ill effects observed thus far), because the hose feels nicer if it touches me. Though perhaps it shouldn't really ever touch me if I get the CozyHoze Boss set up well, which I don't think I have yet. Though part of the problem could be that a ClimateLine hose + SnuggleHose is too much weight for the CozyHoze Boss to support.

I do want to make sure that the SnuggleHose + ClimateLine is not a fire risk. Though I doubt it since the ClimateLine should theoretically be regulating its temperature, right?

In the instructions for the climateline hose it says "Don't use a wrap on the climateline hose". You can use a wrap on the slimline hose.

We just went around on this a month or so ago and we agreed it was okay to cover the heated hoses. Mine has been covered by a fleece cover since I started using it in April.......no problems.

I don't believe you should be wrapping a climate control hose.
If the climate control is run in its automatic mode you will not get condensation in the climate control hose, but in a cold room you may get condensation off the out breath in the mask. This is annoying, I know several people have had this problem with the Swift FX.

This sounds not good...hmmm....

I will contact Resmed service for covering the ClimatLine.

'Technically, nothing prevents the breathing tube/hose to be covered with a tubing wrap.'


The service also said:

'There are differents in instruction manuals for Australia, Europe, Germany, and Amerika! In very hot lands, e.g. Australia, can be read 'do not cover ClimateLine with an wrap'.'

My manual for the S9 and H5i humidifer says that the ClimateLine hose should not be covered by blankets or under cover. It did not specifically say that it couldn't be wrapped.

On the other hand, I'm not particularly bothered by the hose being uncovered. It tried giving me a bear hug the other night, though so I just rolled the other way.

I don't think there's much risk to covering the hose but if the hose breaks and exposes the electrical heater element to the cover, it's a potential fire hazard. I say potential only because you have an electrical and a heat element in contact with a material that can burn. I think the temparture of the wire would be really low so it's not a high fire hazard. That to me would explain the vague language in the manual.
