Does anyone have experience with the ResMed S-9 Autoset? I just received one today and will be using it this evening. I would appreciate your comments, suggestions, warning, etc.
Thank You.

Here is a link to the Clinical Guide for the S9:

To get the AHI info from the LCD screen in the morning, you need to set "Sleep Quality" to "on". See pages 18 and 19 for options.

Please also check if the EPR function is on. It decreases the pressure when you breath out and lets you exhale easily.
It's probably one of the best machines out there. Take it easy, you'll get used to it in no time;)

Re: ResMed S-9 Autoset
I think the default minimum pressure of 4 is too low and use a minimum of 6.
Personally I get the feeling the S9 is trying to breath ahead of my normal breathing if the EPR is set to 2 or 3, so I use 1, but thats just a personal preference.
I've settled on a temperature of 25 or 26 deg C with Auto climate control.
Use the APAP mode and study the results.

Re: ResMed S-9 Autoset
I'm new to this forum but not to CPAP'S, having had one since 1996 (Sullivan V from Resmed, which I used for 10 years before upgrading to an S8)
I just bought an S9 Autoset and humidifier on Saturday and after using it for 2 nights I can say it's just AMAZING.
The EPR thing has to be experienced to be believed! I was getting frustrated with the S8 because after 14 years of therapy I realised breathing through a tube is pretty aweful - trying to exhale through your nose as air is coming up it gets depressing. I started thinking how easy people without Sleep Apnea have it.
The S9 airflow is so "giving" you hardly notice it's there. I have no idea how it intuitively adjusts the pressure throughout the night as I breath, I just know what a breakthrough it is.
No amount of brochure blurb or forum posts can really give you any idea. I suggest anybody unsure which machine to buy should rent/hire an S9 and find out for themselves, because the hire fee is deducted from the purchase price anyway.
No I don't work for Resmed, no I'm not blindly loyal to them; in fact when I walked in to the shop I was undecided between the Respironics System One and the S9. I won't tell you what tipped me in favour of the Resmed on this occasion, as it was more of weighing up pro's and con's for me personally.
But as Molly Meldrum once said "do yourselves a favour" and try the S9
(oh and the new fangled climate line hose is interesting too - you actually get warmed air fed into your mask. How modern )
