What is this?

Post by mhorowit » Sun Sep 26, 2010 12:04 pm

A friend is proudly showing of his machine. It is a REMstar Auto A-Flex; I cannot see any further description. It comes with an SD card.
The user manual isn't much of a help with respect to reading data. I"ve got the software and card reader for reading the 'standard' card, but I can't determine if that software is compatible; also, what about readers?
Anyone know if there is any model number associated with this machine that I'm not seeing? What can it show about daily performance? - Mike

This is the machine in question: https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/respi ... -flex.html

The clinician manual for this machine can be requested at the following site. You'll see it listed at the very bottom....scroll all the way down. It is a large file so you will need to request it via email from the site admin: http://www.apneaboard.com/CPAP%20Adjustment.htm
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

If it's truely a PR S1 Remstar Auto with AFLEX... it'll show very close to what yours will... only differences would be the differences between the Mseries and the PR S1's.

If it's the PR System One Auto A-Flex, the model number is DS550.

It uses a standard SD card reader, not a proprietary one. You can buy the standard card readers anywhere for cheap.

It needs Encore Viewer 2.0 or higher software. If you have older Encore Viewer software you will not be able to read the card.

It shows everything the M series data shows, and in addition it will differentiate between centrals and hypopneas. It also shows a green line if the vent rate on the leak chart is within acceptable limits for the mask. As far as I know, those are about the only differences in the data.
