Trying to love Quattro
I so much want to love my Quattro. I also have the activa LT, but so far I am preferring the Quattro (comfortwise). I'm new at this so I'm not sure how I am suppose to feel after 7-8 hours with my therapy. I am not feeling very refreshed in the morning and my face looks like h3LL. I am fighting the leaks most of the night and feel them mostly up towards my eyes. I have to adjust the mask pretty tight to avoid the leeks, but then I have the marks and puffy eyes. I just tried a remzzz liner it felt comfortable but it was tough getting it into place. Then if I wake to use the bathroom, I have to start all over again. I'm using a fleece forehead liner and I purches the strap fleece liners also. The forehead one works great but the strap ones make it difficult to adjust the straps during the night. My DME therapist is coming for a home visit on Monday. He will bring masks for me to try. I don't know whether I should keep at it with the ones I have or try something else. Any recomendations? (No pillows, can't do them).

I never remove my mask when I get up at night. I just disconnect it from the hose. I use a quick release that makes that easy with any mask.trytryagain wrote:Then if I wake to use the bathroom, I have to start all over again.
Re: Trying to love Quattro
I'm three years with my Quattro with a leak rate of 0.20 so things are good for me. I'm a side sleeper and once I found the perfect pillow(not to firm/not to soft) I can not feel the mask at all. Once I have the bottom softly but firmly in place, and the top straps barely touching, then the top turning adjustment seals the area around my eyes for me. The other thing that I do realize is that all face shapes are different and after starting with an ultra mirage that worked OK I tried the Q and it fits even better. Good luck in your adjustments, pillow, mask search in finding what works for you. Regards

Re: Trying to love Quattro
After 5 months, I have only worn my small Quattro 2 or three times--only once all night.
The darn thing rocks on my cheekbones; leaving me with the unhappy choice of air blowing into my eyes or down my chin, neck, and chest.
The red frowny face never goes away.
The DME let me try the extra small, but it was no better--the rocking never goes away; and neither does the constant leaking.
Not everyone can wear the quattro.

Re: Trying to love Quattro
I'm under 5' tall; and apparently, not me; as the XS quattro was too small for me, too.
If only they made 1/2 sizes. . .--but there would still be the rocking problem.
I need a chin prosthetic about 3/16" thick.--or a big-ant nose cushion.
Rather put something on my chin, though.

Re: Trying to love Quattro
I find with the Quattro that if I have it placed just a hair too high on my face, I get the leaks up there too. Sometimes I have to shut down and lower it just a teensy bit.trytryagain wrote:I so much want to love my Quattro. I also have the activa LT, but so far I am preferring the Quattro (comfortwise). But in general I don't have to try to love the Quattro. I love the Quattro with a deep and intense love. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And Summer's lease hath all too short a reign, but my Quattro rocks!

Re: Trying to love Quattro
I have the same problem especially if I end up on my back. Mostly now I use a Hybrid but when I have a cold or allergies I am back with the quatro.chunkyfrog wrote:So does mine; but not in a good way.

Re: Trying to love Quattro
I want to love my Quattro but I have too much trouble with it. I used to have terrible leaks. I finally got the leaks in the 20 range by using Pad A Cheek's anti leak strap. But the straps left major marks on my face. I'll eventually play with the anti leak strap to avoid the face marks. The anti leak strap sure works well for the leaking problem.
My problem with Quattro now is that my AHI is at 5.5 versus about 1.5 using a nasal pillow mask. I'll use when I have a cold.

Re: Trying to love Quattro
I can't use my Quattro either. I posted (on a separate thread) about how I wake up dizzy after using it...and my AHI is way higher than normal. Wulfman turned me on to another thread about how it is possible the mask doesn't clear out as much CO2 as it ought to when used at lower pressures (my pressure is .....so I am immensely disappointed as I thought the fit of the mask was comfortable. I had the leaks under control...and wanted to have Quattro as a backup mask....but....OH WELL!

Re: Trying to love Quattro
Okay, the visiting therapist came to my house today to help me with my masks. He brought me several new ones to try on and He also brought me different sizes of the ones I aready have. He seems to think I was improperly fitted, only going by the measuring templates rather than an actual fitting. The Quattro and Activa feel better now, (awake we'll see tonight). If these work out I'll keep both, the Activa for nightly use and the Quattro for those stuffy nights. I'm optimistic! He even brought the sleepweaver to try. Cute and funny looking but I don't think it would work with my active sleeping habits.
