ResMed Upgrade

Post by ladybug4 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 12:29 pm

My Dr. switched me from a ResMed CPAP to Bi Pap S 25 Auto(I hope that i got that right). I have also been given a full Mirage Quatro mask. Has anyone here ever experienced a stinging (sensation to your facial skin) caused by the masks gel? I sure do! That did not happen with my other mask type. I am wondering if I might just have the mask too tight; loosening it gave me some relief but not a lot.

The Quattro mask does not have gel...it has a silicone cushion ..is that what you mean? You should clean the mask before using it and probably wipe it down nightly with a citrus CPAP wipe. It's also possible that you are having it too tight. I keep mine very loose at the top and tighter at the bottom. Once I have it seated, I wait a few minutes to give it time for the air pressure to seal it tight...then I slightly loosen it.

Hi
Have you tried mask liners? Remzzz make whatever size you need, you can also make your own, just do a search for homemade remzzz.
