Shiny new hybrid mask

Post by Tired Linda » Mon Sep 06, 2010 10:26 am

After considerable reading and research, I decided to give an Innomed hybrid a try.

My first mask was a F&P nasal, that ended up migrating around my face and gave me an awful blister at the bottom of my septum. Second mask was a Swift FX that was nice and light, but didn't seem to be able to hold up to my twisting and turning during the nightl

This is the first mask someone didn't "fit" me for. I was terribly nervous about doing it myself, but figured I couldn't do any worse than either of the other two did. I took Rooster's advice.."watch the video, watch the video, watch the video" and watched it a few more times for good measure.

Last night was my second night, and I had the best leak line yet. Ever. My AHI also dropped considerably from one night to the next. This mask stays in place very well. I may still need a few "tweaks", as I sometimes wake to hear a faint leaking, and I think it may be the nasal pillows. I know there are all kinds of different remedies for that so, hopefully, we may have a winner!

Althougth my numbers/graphs really don't show it yet, I have noticed a major improvement in how I feel in the moring. Not fuzzy or groggy. I tend to have more patience and seem friendlier with people. And a LOT of my anxiety is gone. I'm a lot calmer in the evening and actually look forward to going to bed for the first time in, oh, I don't know how long.

Thank you, thank you to all the experienced members of the forum who are ready and willing to share their experience.

Here's to good zzzz's for everyone!

You are getting good therapy, but if a little leaking bothers you, put the "ladies' tights fix" to work.

With the Hybrid, there's a CD enclosed with three small WMV videos on it (or at least there was a CD back in 2008 when I bought mine). Might be on the manufacturer's website, too, but truth is the Hybrid is a whole lot easier to set up than the videos make it look.
