Another resistance setting question

Post by fasteddie » Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:55 pm

Hi. Noob here. New to cpaptalk and cpap machines. I decided to try a resmed liberty mask with my PR System One. Works fine at first, but wakes me up in the middle of the night with the machine blowing hard and the mask venting like mad. No leaks. Any suggestions about resistance settings, cflex settings, etc.?

Thanks.

Eddie,

I'd like to get a bit more information from you. First, do you have a CPAP or an APAP machine? Do you use the ramp feature? What are the pressure levels set at, and where is the ramp setting? Do you read the data on the machine from the screen? If so, what is your leak number and your AHI?

The OP profiles tells us that he is using the System One Pro, which is a fully data capable cpap not an auto.

I hope we will hear from him with answers to your other questions, John.

And "cflex settings" would suggest he's using...um...cflex.

Sorry for the delay in responding, folks. I am using cflex+. I've tried all the cflex+ settings and none fixed the issue. I do use the ramp feature. My pressure is set at 11, and the ramp starts at 5. I think that even with the ramp, the liberty is blowing too hard for me to use even at the start. I will check that to be sure. With my nasal mask,(a PR) I'm not getting any leaks or ahi's. I can't leave the liberty on at all, so would the leak and ahi readings tell you anything? If so, I can check those.

Quickly turn the machine off and on and that quickly fixes the problem. Takes all of two seconds.
