simple explanation apnea hyponea rera.........

Post by semreka » Tue Aug 31, 2010 12:08 pm

I studied a bit.
And I have understood that , despite from their conventional explanations they can be considered as below.
Apnea .............no air flow more than 10 seconds.
Hypopnea......... 50% air flow more than 10 seconds.
RERA................there is no decrease in flow but the effort to keep the flow is more than the normal case. This should take more than 10 seconds to be called as RERA.
So,
RERA Apne and hypopnea are look-alike events in general, excepting the intensities.
Apnea and hypoapnea are above the tolerable intencity ,whereas RERA is below it.
We can tolerate the additional effort due to RERA and no effect occurs due to it in next day because there is no change in flow rate and as a result Oxygen saturation.
That is why RERA is not included in the calculation of AHI.
In addition to these three , There is an other fellow with the name of vibratory snore (VS) which is the beginning of everything but the xPAP restains the VS to shade into these three.
So,
I want to be sure about all above.
I need your confirmations or corrections related with them.
I am waiting for your kind contributions.
GOD BLESS ALL.........

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...
