Where can I purchase a ResScan USB Adapter

Post by Do nurses have OSA? » Sat Aug 21, 2010 3:03 pm

Hi all,

It seems from the reading of this site I need a ResScan USB Adapter cable. I don't see any on CPAPauction. Would anyone have one for sale? I really want to see my data. Also could someone recommend a reasonable priced pulse oximeter.

thanks,

Connee

Which model machine do you have? You need to be sure it is data-capable, some only record hours of compliance which is useless info, unless you need proof for the insurance company.

Fill out your equipment profile with text not images.

Thanks Roster thought I had done that but forgot to hit post.

My insurance has no idea. I did this on my own. Not using DME so learning as I go.

I will let a ResMed user answer about the adapter, but here is some info on recording pulse-oximeters,

I have a CMS-50F from Southeastern and am satisfied with it. I got it on sale for $180. Keep an eye out for a possible Labor Day weekend sale.

Do nurses have OSA?:
You can get a cable or a card reader for the S8 from Australia. Either is about $100, plus shipping.

Local options for cable include eBay and Craig's List.

If you have the S8 card, your least expensive option is to adapt a regular credit card reader (is that the one?). All it takes is cutting an S8 sized slot into a credit card or credit card shaped card.

Are you saying that you have an SD Card in your machine, but no slot on your computer to put it in to read it?
If that is what your saying than go to office max or such and tell them you want a SD Card Reader. It cost about five dollars.
If I'm wrong, just disregard.

Just to clarify:

The S9 uses a generic SD card, so a generic SD card reader, or slot on your computer works.

But the S8 uses a Resmed card + Resmed card reader or USB cable for direct download to computer. Some have had success using the ACR card reader and modifying the slot with a credit card, but I never tried that.

People have had very good things to say about Southeast Medical Supply. You can get the same oximeters a lot cheaper here:

http://www.coopermedicalsupplies.com/

and people have very excellent things to say about this company, too. I would not hesitate using either company but would probably prefer the cheaper one.
